Postdoctoral Research Fellow and PhD student scholarship Openings at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
We are seeking highly motivated and independent candidates with PhDdegree (or will obtain PhD degree before July 2010) and strong researchbackground in one of the following areas.
1. Physical chemistry, surface science,photocatalysis/heterogeneous catalysis, electrochemistry; skillful inassembling chemical reactors, expertise in the analytical techniquesincluding GC/GC-MS, SEM, TEM, XRD and XPS. The successful candidatewill work on the preparation of metal-semiconductor hybridnanostructures for the applications in photocatalysis.
2. Colloid chemistry, colloidal metal nanoparticle synthesis,surface modification, surface plasmon resonance, expertise in thecharacterization techniques including TEM, SEM, AFM, Confocalmicroscopy, FTIR, Raman, fluorescence. The successful candidate willwork on the synthesis and functionalization of anisotropic metalnanostructures and investigation of their optical behaviors for sensingapplications.
Salary will be SGD$3500~4000 (RMB 17500~20000) per month depending onthe qualifications with annual performance bonus up to 2 months.
Two PhD scholarship (SGD$2000~2500 per month, 约人民币10000~12500/月)positions are also available in the same topics. The applicant shouldhave GRE/TOEFL (or IELTS) score available. Candidates with Masterdegree (or will obtain master degree before July 2010) in chemistry ormaterials are preferred.
