Tivoli Storage Manager is a suite of products that delivers a broad range of storage management capabilities, including backup, archive, recovery, space management, database and application protection, enterprise resource planning (ERP), bare machine recovery, and disaster recovery planning, etc. Tivoli Storage Manager also includes capabilities that can help protect the customer's mission-critical data that require 24 x 7 availability, as well as options for high-efficiency backup of key business applications, with virtually no backup-related performance impact.
Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack provides a complete set of integrated data storage solutions and tools for reliable backup and restore on the types of systems with which small or medium enterprise environments and remote offices are often equipped. It is the next generation data recovery software that helps to reduce the amount of data at risk between backups, and reduces the amount of time it takes to recover from almost any problem to just a few minutes.
Tivoli China Development Lab will be strategically growing into the major Storage Software Lab WW, becoming the largest development lab outside US. We'll be taking ownership of FastBack for exchange/Workstations Dev and SVT, CoC of Element Manager UI Development. We'll also be taking partial ownership of TSM TDP, and extend our scope of TSM Server/Client development, TPC-R Testing.
Job Responsibilities
The CSDL team will engage in development and function/system level testing of TSM for FastBack. Additionally CSDL will do some bulid and packaging for TSM for FastBack. The work will include new releases, PTFs, and patches. Both windows and linux platforms will be tested. Additional platforms such as Sun or AIX may be added in follow on releases.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences/Qualifications)
Software Developer:
At least 3 years of experience in C and C++ on Windows
Extensive experience working with Windows; Linux experience is an advantage.
Experience in developing at the system level and knowledge of Windows, multi-threading, sockets, the storage stack, communication, and object synchronization. System level knowledge of Linux is an advantage.

It's an individual role with high band (Sr. Band 8-9),solid hands on C/C++ developing on Windows platform and fluent English language skill are necessary. FastBack is a new product just been acquired by IBM and the developing team is newly set up in China. This role should be the team leader, and annual cash income shall be RMB300-500K annually to be based in Beijing.
